In his early youth he made clogs, shoes, and other things and he also mended and repaired shoes. Every night the people assembled there and it is said it is from him most of the people learned there trade.
- There is another man of the same address who was a thatcher and a basket maker. He still makes baskets and creel but he does not thatch. He won prizes every year at the show and that encouraged the people to buy the things from him.
