    A crowning hen is supposed to bring endless bad luck to a house:-
    "A whistling woman a crowning hen,
    Awaken the devil out of his den."
    It is not right to go to a limekiln after dark, and people when burning lime never go alone after nightfall.
    Some say it is not right to stir the soil after sunset lest you hurt the poor souls.
