    Mrs Andy Carney, the Lord have mercy in the soul, that had this charm. I got this from her son Andrew. He said that as sure as he is alive, that it was true.
    A sty or sleamhnán in the eye was cured by picking nine sharp thorns from a gooseberry bush. Each thorn was taken separately and pointed to the eye in which
