    No water or anything else is thrown out while the churning is in progress. A quenched coal was put under the churn at the star of the work and a pinch of salt or a ?? of water was put in the churn. When finishing the churning the sign of the cross was made on the churn and the churn dash. There were no ?? but plunge ones.
    If you were churning ?? churning and churning and still no butter came this was your re??. Don't bother any further with the churning but make your next churn on a Sunday and everything will be all right.
