- (continued from previous page)The ruins of a big house are situated two hundred yards from Michael Tolan's house and about the same distance from the Swinford Kiltimagh road. It was owned by a Captain De Mount Marenzie. The hight of the side walls is about 12 feet and the gables are about 25 feet. The length is about 64 feet and the breath is about 20 feet. Inside there appear to have been three large rooms.
It is situated on a hill and is a distance of three hundred yards from the river Trimogue. It is built of stone and mortor.
The boys of Castleroy an use the gable as a ball court for their amusements on Sunday.
