   seldom go barefooted. They get a pair of shoes when they are less than a year old. In winter-time they wear shoes all the time but when the summer comes the children out in the country go barefooted. They go barefooted from May to November and then they put on their shoes for the Winter.
   There are a few shoe makers in this district now. One called Mr Pat Scanlon lives in Louisburgh. He repairs shoes and makes shoes also. Another maker called Mr Micheal Dunkan lives in Aukdane and another shoe make called Mr Grady lives in Banoun.
   There was an old shoe maker living in Doughmakeon long ago. His name was Mr Matthew Gordan. He was a very good shoe maker. Another shoe maker called Mr Jonnie O Malley lived in Aillmore. He was known by the name of Jonnie Gréasaidhe. Another man called Mr Billy McNally was a shoe maker. He lived in Barrowniskey. Another shoe maker named Riocard Scanlon lived in a little house situated to the south west of our school. Another man called Jonnie Grady lived in Clúintí.
