    Thatching:-
    They thatched the houses with rushes, and tied them with ropes mad from straw.
    Some handy man usually did the work in each village.
    Boats:-
    They made boats from rods and covered them with hides. Later down they covered the rods (or sometimes timber) with canvas and put tar outside.
    Churns:-
    They made churns from bog-deal. They had a hole in the lid, and a long handle with a board on the end going through the hole as churn-dash. This churn-dash was lifted up and down stirring the milk in order to make the churning.
