- In Clew Bay there are three hundred and sixty five islands - one for each day in the year. The old people say that if you counted the islands in a leap-year there would be three hundred and sixty six.
One of the islands is called Innis Deaugh. There is supposed to be treasure hidden in a cave on this island. It is guarded by a large black rat. It was left there by the Tuatha De Dannans. When they knew that they were getting defeated by the Gaels they cast a magic spell over Innis Deaugh. A mist came over it and then the Tuatha De Dannans hid this treasure in it. They left a big fierce rat to guard the treasure and it is supposed to be there guarding it yet. The treasure has never been found.- Collector
