- There is a fairy fort about a mile from The Quay. It is situated on Carnalurgan Hill. There is another in Rosbeg. One can be seen from the other. They are circular in shape and there is a fence of earth and stone around them. There is a hole in the centre of both forts. In the olden times people used to hear the fairies singing and dancing in them. They are supposed to have fought battles in the night as blood used to be seen on the grass. The fairies were supposed to live in them.
