- When one's eyes are sore if you wash them with spring water, cold, out of the well, they will cease to be sore. Black tea also cures sore eyes.
- One night a priest was going out on a sick call. Long ago the mode of convenience that mostly everybody had either horse-back or side-cars. The motor-cars were very scarce and expensive, besides the roads were very bad at this time.
