    The first thing is to clean off all weeds and fill or level any hollows. Then you start to thatch by carefully scollaping your ladder, breadth by breadth at the eve and carefully covering the scollaps with the next handful in your breadth, up along the barge till you come to the top
    Then you start on another breadth being careful to clean out any grain that may fall along the side of the ladder. Being careful to join evenly the laps at each breadth lest the ladder may lay impressions and show out
