    Lord Tir Awley that built Castle Lacken house, and lived on there for some time until Colonel Knox occupied it afterwards, and later a man named Orme. Then Ernest McCormick bought it from Orme. Then the Land Commission took it over and put tenants living on it.
    A man named Thomas Loughney of castletown, Lacken, bought the Domain.
    Colonel Knox was a very bad man, although he used to kill a beef in the week, and a sheep each day for the use of the house. He had many servants employed. He was a most cruel man he did not want any person to go through his Domain.
    At one time there was a Priest named Father Neary in Lacken Parish. He was out hunting one day, and as he was coming home in the evening he crossed through his Domain, to make a near way home.
