- Long ago there landed in Lisheen a dove. She sat on a tree all day, and when evening came and the dew began to fall she drew the shape of a monastery in the dew, which meant that if the shape of the monastery was there in the morning a monastery would be built there.
When morning came it was not there. That same evening the dove flew down to Moyne and drew the shape of a monastery in the dew also. When morning came it was there. So the monastery was built there.- Collector
