    "What happened since I was here before and where did you get (get) gold and riches?" asked Granie O.
    The woman told her the whole story. "I put the cross of Christ between myself and you" said Granie O. "You have sold your soul and your family's souls to the devil for the sake of gold and riches and now you are lost for ever. And you have shed the blood of Christ the day before his crucifiction. God help you. Go to your parish priest as soon as you can, and tell him everything and how it happened. And tell him it was Granie O that sent you to him If you are lost your family is not lost for there is not a deadly sin on them."
    The widow went into the house and took out the purse and asked. "What shall I do with this gold and silver?"
    "Throw it into the fire and say at the same time 'I renounce the devil and all his works"
