    doing penance day and night. At the end of a month the priest sent for her again and he said he had a letter from the Pope and that there was only one way to save her. Take of your shoes and go on a pilgramage to Logh Dearg. "Don't sleep the second night in any house and only eat once every twenty-four hours. Make the journey of the cross seven times in the day and night. Do this for seven days. Take no bread with you but ask for alms in the name of god. Here is a piece of true cross to keep the devil from you. Go now in the name of god." said the priest. When the widow came home Granie O was before her. She told her everything she had to do. "Go as quick as you can." said Granie O. "I will take care of your family until you come back."
    The widow went away. She was thirsty, hungry, and cold, but she did everything the Pope had ordered. At the end of three months she came back. Her own family hardly knew
