    princess and they lived happy.
    One day they were down at the seaside and the princess strayed away from the prince and when he was going over to where she was he saw a mermaid coming into the shore and she was dragging the princess out. He ran over as fast as he could and he tried to catch her but he couldn't get near her.
    He went home crying to the king.
    "What is wrong with you?" He said. "A mermaid brought away my wife and I couldn't get near her."
    And when the king heard this he didn't know what to do. The next day the prince went down to the shore to see if he could get her back and he saw a little woman selling rock and sweets.
    "What is wrong with you my good man," she said.
    "My wife was brought away by mermaids yesterday and I cannot get her."
    "Well," said the little woman, "You come down to this shore today at one o'clock to
