- Once there lived a man who was very fond of card playing. One night he said to himself he would go to a house in the neighbourhood. He had very good courage.
As he was coming home that night after playing cards he saw a gentleman playing cards for himself on a little table and a pile of silver beside him.
The gentleman asked him to have a game and he said he would and sat down by him and started playing. At first the gentleman let him win some of the silver and then he started to win it all back again. They kept playing for a while until suddenly a card fell. The man stooped to pick it up and then he saw the cloven feet. He got weak at one and fainted. When he recovered the gentleman and the table had disappeared.- Collector
