- "About sixty years ago, I was churning in my house, in the town-land of Barnfield, backs, Co. Mayo. When I was churning a beggar woman came in. She never said "God bless the work", or took part in the churning before she left the house.
When she went out, I kept on churning. After sometime I noticed that the butter did not appear on the milk. I kept on churning for two hours, but I saw no sign of the butter on the milk.
At last I stopped churning, and in a few days after she came in again. I told her that I could not get any butter on the milk. Then she told me to get the churn and also a bit of straw(continues on next page)- Collector
