People remember querns being used. The different kinds of bread used were Potato-cake, Boxty-bread & oatmeal bread. Potato cake was made from boiled potatoes and was made when potatoes were dug.
Oaten-meal bread was made from oat-meal which they bought in the shops. Boxty was made from boiled potatoes and all the family used to help in grating the potatoes against a perforated tin. In kneading the(continues on next page)- Collector
