- If the wind is from the east it does not do good for man or beast and when it comes from the west it is a sure sing of fine hard weather. When the wind comes from the south we are sure of rain and when it comes from the north snow may appear. When rain is coming the dog will eat grass and the cat will turn its back to the fire.
When there is dust on the road hard weather is appearing. If the fog goes up the river rain may appear and if it foes down fine weather will come. If the smoke goes up straight rain will come.- Collector
