- There is a monument made of stone in one of Mr Kiely's fields in Strancally. It is like a table but has no legs. It is all one block about five feet by three feet and about five feet high. It is a druid's altar wk where they offered sacrifice.
Many people have tried to root it up but it is impossible because it is a great depth into the ground. It is supposed to be standing since the year 320. At the back it is about a foot higher than in the front.(continues on next page) - Not very far from this place in a field owned by Mr O Neill there is a great stone which was supposed to be part of a druid altar
