- Buying and selling.Huckster's shops were plentiful long ago and sometimes a "shebeeen." People bought the things they wanted on their way home from Mass.
If they were not paying for the things when they bought them it was called getting them on "tick" and the huckster kept the score on a stick.
Sometimes animals carts or things were "swopped". "Boot" was given if one article was better than the other.
