    Another story was also told to the writer about 35 years ago by a native of the district who was then about 70 years of age and who died 12 years ago.

    and appetising plate of meat was brought to him. The man who offered it said "Surely you will not refuse to eat this" and the monk answered -
    "I will not eat it" nor "will the dogs eat it". With that the dogs were called, the plate of meat was laid on the ground, and every dog in the kennel refused to touch it.
    The imprisoned monk was not offered meat on Friday after that.
