(continued from previous page)was wrong. It appeared that when Neville brought the horse to his own gate he could not open the gate and the horse would not move.
Both men reached the house and this time found no difficulty in getting in. Slea sat down while Neville was lighting the fire and getting a cup of tea. The rest I will tell in Slea's own words.
"I was sitting down facing the fire when I was almost sure that I saw Mrs Neville passing through the kitchen from a room above to one below. I said nothing thinking I might be mistaken and not wanting to frighten Dick. He almost had the tea ready when this time without doubt I again saw and said "There's your mother". He simply answered "don't mind" as if he was used to such happenings. But he hardly had the words out of his mouth when with a crash the kitchen door was taken from its hinges and thrown on the floor in front of us.
