- Mondays and Fridays ware unlucky days for getting married. When a farmer's daughter is getting married she has to have a fortune of money. Long ago when people were married all the lads used to throw cabbage stumps at them. When the marriage was over the old people used to have races home and it is often they fell off the horses and got killed. There used to be a dance in the house on that night and a lot of straw-boys came to the house. Old shoes were tied on to the car that the married people were in for good luck.
