“People long ago were very superstitious about two certain days in the week. Monday and Friday.”
People long ago were very superstitious about two certain days in the week, Monday and Friday. On Monday any person would not get his hair cut because it is said it would bring bad luck. And if a person died on a Sunday the men who would have to dig the grave would take the first three sods off that Sunday morning as it was said that if they cut the sods on Monday, they would be cutting graves for the week. On Friday anyone would not get married, as it would bring bad luck the first three years of their marriage. It was a great customer long ago to have some old men and women go around from door to door selling pictures, dress-material and many other goods. They were called peddlars.- Bailitheoir
