- There was a great dancer and fiddle player near this district. Pádraigín A Rince was the name the people used to call him. He was a great walker and he would walk to Waterford for a string for his fiddle and come home again the same day. His right name was Patrick O'Brien. His wife Eibhlín Murcadha was great story-teller. She could spend the whole day telling them.
My grandmother was very strong. She used to carry a heavy wooden can full of water and two pitchers in her hands.
John Casey of Mount Stuart was a great weight thrower. He used to throw 1/2 cwt. ten feet. Tom Drohan was a great jumper. He jumped Michael O'Brien's middle gate from piers about thirteen feet apart. - There are some famous people of the district.
