    these two bushes until ye will meet a flag two feet square and on the flag will be the print of five fingers. The crock of gold is under that flag and your seven generations will never have it spent".
    Michael and four men went off that night between eleven and twelve o'clock to dig. They dug down about two and a half feet and then they came to the flag and the mark of the five fingers were on it as the little man had said. They took it up and laid it on the ground but there was no crock there. So they dug about six feet and there was nothing. They returned home disappointed. When they went in to Baldwin's mother she had a pot of potatoes boiled for them and the little man was with her.
    He said "Ah, you were disappointed. Why didn't you do what I told you? How many men did you bring with you?"
