    was a lodged corner of a field of hay to be cut and they said that they would leave it there till morning. Anderson of munsboro spoke up and said "Rest yourselves men, I will finish it although I came here by the help of two crutches" and then he finished the corner. Then he shouldered his scythe and by the aid of his two crutches he walked home.
    A Great Weight Thrower.
    There were two great weight throwers in this parish long ago Micheal Cullinane and James Hogan a scool-teacher at Clonea. Mr. Hogan taught school under Mr. Flannery the great scholar and linguist. Cullinane and Hogan threw the 1/2 cwt in the lawn at the parochial house where Father Nugent now resides. The young men of the Ridgeways acted as referee and judge Cullinane only took off his coat and only gave it one throw. Hogan followed three three but if he was throwing it until now he could not succed in putting it up
