the people, determined to see inside, gathered together and marched towards the house. Alas, when they came there was nothing to be seen but bare walls. They re-built the house and an ancestor of Mr.George Shackleton, from the village bought it, and from that day onwards it is said a white lady appears once a year. When she comes she and two fairies feast together. It is said they leave a crock of gold in a sill under the landing. My Father and Mr.J Gleeson saw the white lady at Fairyhouse gate one night in 1936. When Patrick Byrne is bringing down the milk each morning to the kitchen from the dairy which is upstairs he trips up every second Friday of the month over a little black animal something like a mouse which runs across in front of him. Sometimes he falls.
