with Mr.Thornberry, John Murray, Joe Neary, everyone of whom are dead except Mr.Thornberry. The called at Peter Vickers of Black Church and Tom asked who owned the place. The man behind the counter told him Peter Vickers and then he made this verse:-
"Black Church hotel, I know it well
It is kept by Peter Vickers.
It is a handsome place on the road to Naas,
And he keeps the best of liquors".
Another day John Murray was opposite Mrs.Hughes Lucan and a woman passed by carrying a dog in her arms. Tom said to her:-
"Our Lord built this church on a rock, not in a bog.
And to Saint Peter, he gave the key,
And if man was as faithful as the dog
There wouldn't be so many churches here today".
    Another day he sang:-
    Larry Roe, tonight cannot go
To where he will meet Myra Dunn
    For with stones and mortar".
