- About three miles west-wards from Brittas, there are the ruins of an old Gearldine castle, which is situated in the town-land of Kilteel, barony of Naas, parish of Eadstown, and in County Kildare.
It is said that Cromwell's army passed by this place on their way to Waterford.
It is also said that it was at that time, that they shelled the castle in Kilteel.
At the back of the castle, there is an old grave - yard, but I cannot find out anything about it.- Collector
