The Martello Towers were built around the coast as fortification. They were also used for hiding ammunition and guns. They were built from granite from Dalkey quarry. - St Begnets
There is an old graveyard with the Church of St Begnet which holds some very old tomb-stones one is said to be dated before he coming of St. Patrick
