- (continued from previous page)In the parish of Killymard (a little distance outside of Donegal) there is a well called “Fathers Mick’s Well,” so named because it was Father Michael Kelly who blessed it. Many people come to visit this well, especially in the summer, and it is said that a lot of people have been cured of serious diseases. The prayers to be said are “The lords Prayer and the Hail Mary five times,” and it is the custom to leave a rag or some other article behind on the little wall which is built round the well. The following is one of the cures. “A man named Simon Carr [?] from the townland of Dooran was suffering from a sore leg. A neighbouring gave Simon particulars about the well, so he resolved to visit it the following day. As soon as he reached the well he did said the usual prayers for the Popes intention, and took a drink of the water. On his way home he had a funny feeling he was going to(continues on next page)
