    and I should and called and kicked the door, but all was no use. She may be asleep, so I left and thought Id get you here”.
    Ould [sic] Biddy was a travelling woman who used to go from house to house staying a few days in each house, and doing odd jobs as spinning and carding, so they thought that Biddy arrived after they left, got in some way put on a fire and fell asleep at it, but they wondered in what way she did get in as they door was locked. However they considered it best to go home lest Biddy might fall into the fire when she was sleeping at it.
    Home they went, but when they arrived at the house it was in complete darkness. The fire was raked as they left it, and the door was locked, and no Biddy.
    Thady explained that when he came to the house the firelight was shining through the window. He went to the door lifted the
