    night, and was in a bathe of sweat in the morning. John, of course, knew Mary Campbell; but he had never seen the other girl, who seemed to him little more than a child.
    Some years later John got married to Mary Campbell. They lived in the village of Ballintra and John had forgotten all about the Hallow Eve incident, when to his grief his wife died leaving him with an only child. He got a woman to take care of his child, and lived a widower for some years.
    At last some person made a match for John telling him about a certain girl whom they knew who would make him a good wife. John consented to go and see her. Imagine his astonishment when there he beheld the very cooleen who shoved his wife aside and turned his shirt on that Hallow Eve night years before. The match was finished. John married this girl, and both lived for years dying only about ten years ago.
    They left a son by his first wife who still lives in Ballintra.
