From the year 1460 until the year 1609 the Franciscians resided in this parish. But after the flight of the earls the English hunted the monks out of the monastery. Still they didn't leave the parish. They rejoined to Dysart, a lonely and sequestered village at the foot of Carn na Mhaoin, where they stayed until the beginning of the eighteenth century.
The parish of Inver is possessed of an abundance of wild and rugged scenic beauty. Fish abound in the silvery streams and blue placid loughs. Rabbits, hares, grouse and wild fowl are plentiful in the warrens and moors scattered (scattered) at intervals throughout the parish.
Inver Bay is one of the many beauty spots which tourists haunt during the summer months. Indeed my native parish holds attractions in plenty, both scenic and historic, for all who wish to(continues on next page)- Collector
