About fifty years ago there was a great snowstorm, which is well remembered by the old people on account of a woman by the name of Kate Kelly, Altcor, being blown off the road into a bog and smothered by the strong blowing of snow. She was found lying dead in the bog next morning with her parcels by her side and her beads in her hand. This woman was returning from the market. There was a woman killed in Lettermore by lightening not many years ago.
