- (continued from previous page)are kept for seed. My father cuts the potatoes. Two eyes are left in every seed. If he plants the potatoes on new ground he marks the ridges with a line and then he turns a sod. After that he puts on the manure then he plants the seed and then he covers them over with clay. In about three weeks after that they are shoveled. In the beginning of July they are sprayed. This is done to prevent the blight. They are dug in the beginning of October. Some of the potatoes are put into pits and they are covered with rushes and clay.
- If you get donkey’s milk it is a cure for whooping cough. Linseed oil is a cure for burns. Caustic is the only cure for warts.
