    No voice nor tongue can tell.
    And whilst I am surveying it,
    My heart with grief doth swell.
    5 Along this beautiful hamlet,
    Upon a summers day.
    You would be filled with wonder,
    If you happened for to stray.
    6 On every side of the public road,
    As you are passing by.
    Bold and attractive objects,
    Your vision would descry.
    7 Neat and humble cottages,
    Are scattered here and there.
    The homes of valiant young men,
    And charming girls so fair.
    9 And yonder at a distance,
    You plainly might discern.
    The towering hill Drumbardagh,
    So lofty and so stern.
    10 Adieu to thee sweet Castletown,
    Since I must from thee roam.
