2. Fill a stocking with heated salt and tie it around the neck.
3. Dissolve salt in water and gargle the throat with it.
4. Dissolve alum in water and gargle the throat with it.
5. Fill stocking with heated onions and tie it around the throat.Cures for Mumps1. It is a cure to put the horse’s wiskers [sic] on the person having mumps and lead him to a spa well and let him drink like a horse.
2. Sprinkle flour on face.
