    He replied no, that he was expecting it any time.
    Napper Tandy then left the island and on his way to Burtonport he met the mail boat. He asked Mr McNeilis the man in charge of the post boat to deliver any letters to him. McNeilis refused, and Napper Tandy took out his revolver, and made him put up his hands while he rifled the contents of the bags.
    He got the Government letters which were tied up in a bundle separately from the others, and brought
