- Once upon a time there was a big flood in the Blackwater and in the sea around youghal. The sea was so wild, and so rough, that no fish could remain alive in it. They were thrown against the rocks and on the seashore.It happened that sometime after that there were men fishing on the Blackwater near Strancally Castle.
