    The drills are made with a drill plough. There is manure put into the drills before the seed is put in. The seed is dropped by hand. About ten inches apart and the drills are closed. After the plants grow a couple of inches, the farmer moulds them and later on he spays them to keep off the blight.
    In the Autumn the potatoes are taken out with a potato digger. In some places where the farmers put potatoes in ridges they are taken out with a spade. Here they use the tractor to draw the potato digger.
