the soil is ever since known as the Isle of man. The place which was left where the Irish giant pulled up the soil is ever since known as Lough Neagh.
Long ago there lived a giant and any person who went near his house he would kill. A man heard of this giant and he came to the giant's castle. He dug a large hole and covered it over with twigs and grass. then the man went up to the giant's house and knocked at the door. The man ran away and the giant ran after him. The giant fell into the hole and could not get out again. Then the man cut the head of him and that put an end to him.
