The man stole up to the fairy and got hold of him and ordered him to show him where the gold was. So the fairy said to carry him to a certain field. The man did so, and the fairy said that under a weed there was gold.
The man had no spade so he had to return for one. He tied a string around the weed so that he would know where to dig. He made the fairy promise not to take off the string.
On returning with the spade he found that every weed in the field had a string on it.
There was a woman out pulling heather and a little fairy appeared to her and told her that she was pulling the roof off her house.
At a certain place in Tullyhullion there is a little grove of holly, ivy and mistletoe bushes. It is said that fairies inhabited this place long ago.(continues on next page)- Collector
