- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)shop. The potatoes which are used for sowing must be cut and left with one eye in them. The neighbours all help each other in digging and sowing the potatoes. During the Summers months the potatoes must be sprayed to keep away the blight. When the people see the tops of the potatoes are withered, they dig them. Some have a digger and some have to dig them with spades. Some store them in lofts and some store them in pits. When making the pits the people put the potatoes all together in one part of the field. They would put about four pits in each field. When they have what ever potatoes they are putting in the pit in it they thatch it with rushes and put a lot of clay on it.
