    Cures for Sprains.
    If a child gets a bone put into his hand the first thing immediately after birth he can cure a sprain.
    (This cure this still believed in by many people in this district.)
    Certain people are also believed to have a cure for a sore back. They stand on the back of the person who is ill.
    (This is still believed in.)
    A woman in Derryreel is said to be able to remove motes or specks from the eyes, even if the person who is is suffering is not present. She is said to show the motes in a bowl of water after the cure is performed.
    Cure for Lumps or Boils.
    Touch the lump with nine pieces of iron, and throw away the ninth iron. Say when touching the lump, "In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost."
