    present with what monks were attached to the house. The soldiers set about their cruel work and killed those present to a man.
    The monks in Dunfanaghy were appraised by the soldiers coming, so collecting their valuables they fled to safety. On arriving the soldiers were disappointed on finding the house empty and the valuables gone. They set the place afire and it has never been reroofed since.
