    is John Kyle a native of Rathmullan. He could cut one acre and two rood in one day with a hook. The only great rower of boats about here were John Conr [?] and John Mc Collan. They won many races in boats. The best cyclist I know is Vincent Crerand of Ray who still lives in Ray. He was able to beat a well trained cyclist.
    Once upon a time there lived in Cranford a man named Brian Mc Hugh. He lived a hundred years or more age and he owned most of the land around there. His son - in - law had a foal which he got on Whit - Sunday. Mc Hugh thought this unlucky so he went to see the foal. The foal had a white star on its forehead and when he saw this he cut the middle part of the star out and put in a teapenny [?] piece between the skin and the flesh. One day when he was ploughing with the same foal and claimed the foal. The both went to law and Mc Hugh went with them. Mc Hugh asked this man what proof he had that the foal
